I have no way to get down there today, but even if someone was able to give me a lift, I wouldn't be able to go as I messed up my back on Thursday and have an acupuncture session at 3 in Mississauga.
Afterwards, I'll be at my shop near Dixie and 401 if anyone wants to swing by later and trade their fretless Jazz neck for one of my Precision or Jazz Special necks....

We had that room loaded with more gear than you can imagine! There were 4 Rics alone, multiple fretless (including an electric upright), multiple boutique basses and even some custom builts. DrunkHeffalump brought out a tube head he built and there were a host of different heads from Small to large. Cabs of every shape and size too. More than I can remember actually!
Anyway it was a great time and thanks to all for hauling all that gear out and sharing. It's alot of fun to try other stuff out and it is a great group of bassists.
I think Basically Bob has me talked into trying a fretless out now. Wish I could get one like his custom built but I think that's a bit too rich for me but boy it is one beautiful and great sounding bass.

I did and it was awesome. But one thing leads to another and I found a great vid where a guy does the bass line playing along to the song including the guitar bits that are twinned and even the ending where there are 3 bass overdubs. He put a huge amount into this vid and it's worth a watch. Stay tuned to the end. The finish is awesome! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V-sAYCh...%3DV-sAYChijwA

But my standout today is Drunk Heffalump and his homegrown '69 Marshall Super Bass. The word BEAST is the only word to describe it. Cherry St Bass GTG Nov 24 2012
The date for today should be under the pictures. There's also the previous ones from earlier this year.

I'm still a dedicated hi-fi cab user, but that 610 is definitely the King of conventional cabs, at least to my ears. Makes me wonder what I'd think of Duke's new Hathor cab, with the dual cone midrange setup. |

I would also like to thank everyone who attended for their patients while I ran a couple of heads through my NV610... I really wanted to get a picture of what that cab can do, with different amplification... again, many thanks!
Met some really cool people, Drunk Helffalump is not only pretty cool, but very generous as well.
And good to meet new as well as familiar faces...
Talk about the RIC show! There were no less than 5 RICS in attendance and I didn't even bring mine! For anyone who wanted to get there greedies on a RIC, Saturday would have been your day!
The bass that stood out to me, out of all that I got my grubbies on... that Elrick! What a sweet bass!

My standout was that Fireglo 4001, with the Hawkwind and Motorhead spray painted case. Running that thru that Ampeg 8x10, with the '69 Super and playing Masters Of the Universe.
Shades of Space Ritual.......

Who's in for a GTA GTG around mid-March (not during march break)?
I am in the east (Whitby), but Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, etc. works for me.
My Fodera Emperor Standard 5er should be here by then and I can bring my Monique pre.
