If someone is able to contact the music stores & schools perhaps they would put up a poster promoting the GTG. Maybe a music store would even sponser the event?

No reason why a Toronto GTG wouldn't be as successful. They had bassists driving 3 hours to be there. New England FALL 2011 GTG - Save the Date! November 5, 2011

I won't be able to attend in January but would be able to work with the March 24 date brought forward on page 2. It would be awesome to hook up with some other bass players and check out some gear/rig options. I am particularly interested in Steve's TC 112 and other smaller rigs.
I sure don't expect the group to move based on my preference.
If the timing works out, I will definitely be there.
Bob

Our last 2 GTG were 3 hours so 4 hours should be more than enough time to try out gear, talk, learn technique, stories, and play tunes.
I tend to be the one taking all the pictures and video so I'll bring my gear for that.
What would help is that people confirm they are going. The last one we did had around a dozen guys show up.

Once you book Cherry Street, why don't you start a list of everyone that says they'll attend. Good way to keep track and maybe get more interest.

| | | | My experience has shown that if you want to book an event that working musicians will attend, you had best book a Sunday afternoon. Don't you guys play gigs Saturday nights? |

But yeah, you have a good point |

| | | | I get some Sunday afternoon gigs, but a lot more Saturday night gigs. I'm old. I don't like showing up pooped out after an afternoon of frivolity. If its paying frivolity, No Problem. :^) |

If people drive in from a distance, Sunday might not be the best either.
Anyone else with thoughts on this?
