The Virginia Bass Forum presents Trip Wamsley

Hey gang,

The Virginia Bass Forum presents Trip Wamsley and Brittany Frompovich in concert. Saturday, March 23rd at Forte Music Studios at 1691 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

"O.K. - I don't know that much about music - but this guy was awesome!! We really enjoyed his show." - from an email written by Valerie W.

Trip Wamsley will be traveling over 1,200 miles from Louisiana to perform a concert in Northern Virginia. This is a concert for anyone who loves good music - not just bassists!

Trip blends his dry sense of humor and his rock infused, highly creative solo bass chops to create a unique concert experience for the listener. In part of Trip's bio on Mangatune.com, he recounts his first encounter with bass; "He would often accompany his band-director father to area music stores where he would see bass guitars. Young Trip thought basses were, "...big guitars for dumb people...". (We've learned to appreciate Trip's dry sense of humor...) Trip's school had a bass that was not being used, so he brought it home and learned to play "Summer Nights" from the movie "Grease". With his first song under his belt and some new-found confidence, Trip set out to make music."

And Trip Wamsley certainly did. He is a former student of the legendary Michael Manring, Trip has now performed all over the world. So I encourage everyone...don't miss this unique experience.

"Trip's playing takes on both the rhythmic bass and melodic lead roles, harmonics and overtones are flung about effortlessly. Right hand, left hand, all ten fingers, tuning keys and every ounce of potential is used to bring forth music from his finely crafted instruments. Musicians will appreciate his creative use of both fretted and fretless basses, special effects and detuners. Trip is the introduction to the bass guitar as a complete orchestra."
