Virginia Bassists GTG Poll!

Sign in to disble this ad
March 15th, 2008. Time TBA, most likely noon-ish till whenever.

Please vote only if you're in Virginia, and tell us if you're going or not.

Bring anything you want to trade/sell/show off, and I'll bring my rack + cabs to try stuff out on.

I'm especially interested in any local business owners or managers who would be willing to host, but if you have a big house and want a bunch of people you've never met there, that will work too. If hosted in Hampton Roads, and the weather's decent, it'll be an outside event in Virginia Beach.

Expect to sit around and jam a lot. Bring wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend/SO/DD or whatever if you want, we'll have a kiddy table for them.

Voting ends February 29th.

If it's at your place in VB I'm there! What's everyone like to eat??

Oh yeah, speaking of Feb 29th, Bettye LaVette is playing the Attucks theater in Norfolk that night (toured with Ben E King, Otis Redding & James Brown). Pine Top Perkins is playing the next night with Bob Margolin, so if your into Blues, it's a full on weekend of greats

What about us Northerners?

Looks like we'll have to go it alone - a bit like the road funding!

Any NOVA bass players up for a beer?

Since the majority of people here are from HR or Richmond area, that's where I think we're going to start. Decent turnout/lots of fun (either one, or both) and we'll get one rolling in the DC metro area.

Of course, anyone is more than welcome to make a GTG happen *Thunderitter* if they so choose - I'm just the guy setting up this one.

If it gets too big or you change your mind about using your place, I know a pub just off Shore that I'm sure would be happy to have us. PA & Drum kit already in place

Hey, well done on organizing a GTG for the 'southerners' and good luck! Sounds like you should have a blast!

We have a kick butt one every year for the guys in the DC area. Which reminds me...... It's time to start a thread on that.

Too bad it's on a Saturday, or else I'd be up for a drive down south.

I'll be in the studio working on a demo that day, otherwise I'd be there. Hope you all have fun!

I'm cool with a Sunday if the majority of the crew can't make it on a Saturday.

Personally, I don't mind where it is, just as long as it's not in the DC area....Even though I hate driving up there, I'd still do it.

I voted that I'll show up regardless of where it is, although I think I might have some connections to get something together here in Richmond. In the meantime, if it's in Hampton Roads, I'll be there as well!

I'd go to it if this were in the DC area. We need one up here in NoVA.

I might have a place to hold the event in Va. Beach. Have you secured a location yet?

I usually rehearse with my band, Uphill, on Saturday so I'd prefer Sunday. Also I have a gig in Elizabeth City March 15th but it is not until 9pm.

Do we bring any gear? Amps etc?
