Alright rather than hijacking the other NY thread, I propose we discuss some ideas here. Any ideas for when, where or why would be great.

Nice to see you being the first to post here!
I think this Friday might be out for me. LOL
Glad you got to check it out. I got to play it for one gig and had to give it up, other wise it would have stayed in my playing line up.
I'm currently working on 3 things, 1st being the fiberglass rehab bass. 2nd is another update/mod of a Warmouth Bass for a customer. And 3rdly I'm trying to figure out what I want to build for myself, it's really tough to figure out what I want/need. Also Larry at Gallery Hardwoods is tempting me with some various woods and fingerboards.
So do you have any ideas for a get together?

Hasn't been one in a while... not sure what happened... seemed to be a pretty decent turnout most of the time. Think it was Paul Schmid (So Low Bass on wnymusic and here on TB) that put them together for the most part. Here's one thread over there that followed it for a bit. Perhaps you can get some interest going between some of the folks over there and people on here to put something bigger together.

Anyone have any places that would work?
I assume a weekend day?
Do we want to do just basses or rigs too?
Please post your thoughts here.
Thanks,

| | | | Hey Rochester and beyond.... Dirkus...and others
Relatively new to this Talkbass thing...but I searched "Rochester" to see what came up...would totally be into a GTG. Obviously dont get to hang with other bass players too often!
(Dirk ..its Dave P)
BTW, Dirk getting into the build thing, but starting slow...just doing a Frankenjazz......Moses fretless neck, Linseed refinish, Nordy's (NJ4SE) and an Audere pre, badass Bridge...just an initial foray into this whole thing and I am seeing how seductive it can be!! This weekend I'll be shielding the cavities and first coats of oil on the body. ALso, want to talk to you about making ramps....(when you get a chance....would love to put one on the Fodera, and others if possible).
OK Im out... |

The closest we've had is when TB'er So Low Bass had a bass bash in North Tonawanda a couple years back. There were only a handful of people there, but I dont' think the word got out here enough for an official "TB GTG". More of a local thing.
