10 string bass string suppliers

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up a 10 string bass on Ebay a little over a year ago and have been unable to locate strings to fit the darn thing!

It's around a 39" scale so obviously I can't just get them anywhere. I took it apart to do some mods, as I do with virtually every string instrument I own, and of course the strings could not be salvaged.

At this point, it seems my only option is to go through a bulk string supplier, piece together a set by buying individual strings but that means paying through the nose. I've been fortunate to score some brand new 6 and 4 string sets on Ebay for around 6 bucks a set which was no small feat I assure you. They also won't fit this beast as it has standard guitar tuners oddly enough...I think it was really intended to be a hybrid instrument but was marketed as a bass.

Any ideas that will help me avoid spending 70-80 dollars would be greatly appreciated. I had hoped to turn the instrument into a sort of hybrid with 4 bass strings and 6 baritone guitar strings but unfortunately, the scale is just too freakish.

Thanks guys.

Sorry I can't answer your question about the strings but did you ever make any videos of you playing the bass or have any pictures?
