Just strung up my jazz with Dean Markley American Flyers mismatches to the gauges above. I had a bunch of misc. gauges running around. Sounds just awful, but I had to get the flats off of it.
New string sound now, though.

Am I going to screw the neck up on my bass this way?

your bass should be fine , you may (or may not) need a small truss rod adjustment due to the change in tension but should be fine , flats are usually higher tension anyway so assuming you had standard gauge (105-85-65-45) flats on your bass previously then the tension difference should be relatively small
