I've just bought a 5 string bass for low F tuning and the .130 (B) string is too saggy/can't get a decent sound without rattle.. is there anywhere I can get really heavy strings from? :/ cheers.

You mean when you tune it to F? Check out Circle K Strings and get a balanced tension set with individual gauges for your needs.

Also Rotosound makes a drop zone plus set that has a .175 for a F#.

The only problem with these larger strings is they may require some kind of nut modification.

+1 on Rotosound Drop Zones, they are designed for exactly what you're doing:

Rotosound Drop Zone 66 - 4 String Set

Just add whatever singles you want to make a 5 string set, Jason should have them all!

D'Addario makes a .145. You can get a custom set from bassstringsonline.com

Heck, I use a Circle K .142" for low B on a 35" scale. You're tuning lower than that? Think fat!

Circle K Strings .174 for F, their tension chart says 31.2 pounds tension (extra light tension, same as a .090 E). CKS recommend exceeding 30 pounds. My experience was a massive string like that needs at least 30 pounds for a tight vibration and best tone, my D'Addario .145 started to suffer at G.

Circle K's are pretty floppy/low tension to begin with, though. I replaced my CK .136 with a DR Sunbeam .130 which was a good bit tighter, and Sunbeams are considered low tension compared to most anything else. That's tuning to B though.
