2 questions about elixir strings...

Sign in to disble this ad
I loved the elixirs on my 4 string so I'm planning on getting the same type for my 6 string.

1) Do polywebs and nanowebs sound similar when played through an amp?

2) When the coatings wear out on both of them, do they feel identical? (I know that the polywebs "slippery" feel does wear out after a while).

My experience with elixirs is that the nanowebs start out brighter and stay brighter. They also feel almost uncoated. The polywebs are a little more mellow but don't go dead for a really long time. I prefer the poly because I don't like that harsh new string sound and I likes it real slippery! I've never had a set lose the slip on me either.

Hope this helps a little!

Can you even get the Polywebs anymore?

Oops, my bad...I guess you can! JustStrings has 'em.
