| When a string is "dead" is extremely subjective. When I'm playing shows, I change my strings just about every show because to me, after one good sweaty show, my strings just don't have that zing anymore and start to get pretty dull sounding. Of course there are people who will gig with a set of strings for 3 or 6 months and to them, those strings take that long to die. If your definition of dead strings is anything like mine and you're playing three shows in a weekend, your strings are definitely going to be toast. You may want to spring for some coated ones (if you're ok with the slightly different tone). Otherwise, I would tend to suggest that you might have to just consider a pack of bass strings part of the cost of doing business if you're playing three nights in a row. I do... |
