| 32" Piccolo?

I'm taking delivery of a 32" scale Vantage today (Matsumoku-era), and have it in my head to set it up as a piccolo. Anyone have any experience using regular scale piccolo strings on a med. scale bass? I know the tension will be a bit lower, but how noticable might it be?
