.35 hi-beams?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm currently using Hi beams .45 and I don't think I want anything else.I just love them. But lately I want my action higher than ever and its getting hard to fret the notes.Thats why I want to try .35 gauge.

The question is,as the hi-beams are already very bright, zingy strings, would .35 be too zingy, floppy, lacking in the low end?

BTW we have a gig coming up and would there be a dramatic change in the feel of the bass with such a change in the gauge?

They make a .25, .30, .35 .40. You can get in touch with DR and order a custom set. They sell a lite-lite set 40, 60, 75, 95's I really wouldn't go lighter than that. Hi-Beams are also lower tension than other brands. How high do you want your action?

I want medium action I believe. But you are right about hi-beams being lower tension..35 would be too floppy it seems...
