5 string E-C problem

Bass strings online
I am restringing my 5 strings from B-E to E-C as I am having a 5 string upright built set up that way and I have been getting familiar with that set up. But, to try and get 5 string sets E-C is ridiculous, not sure why no one has stepped up to creating that set (to my knowledge). So, you get stuck with either buying a 4 string set and a one off C string or a 6 string set and trashing the low B. Anyway, https://www.bassstringsonline.com was very helpful with putting together matching sets for me. I was focused on my ABG and so I got two different sets to try, TI acousiticores and Labella white nylon. I can recommend this site from a customer service standpoint, I do not have the strings yet but the guy (forgot to get his name) was really, really knowledgeable and helpful.

I think there just isn't a lot of demand. I thought I read where one manufacturer was going to sell only four string sets and also sell individual B and C strings. Can't remember which one and maybe the idea fell through. I guess it looks like you're paying more when you have to buy a four string set and then add a B string versus just buying a five string set.

Check out Circle K first, or you can buy other brand's individual strings from Bassstrings online.com

Most companies make High-C strings (and have them available as singles).

If you search for 4 string sets you like and add single High-C's the options are nearly endless. If searching for pre-packaged sets the options are far less. Even 5 / 6 string users will have more options searching for 4 string sets and adding high-C and Low-B strings.

Example... D'Addario has 10 different 4 string sets, and 10 different Low-B strings, yet only 4 pre-packaged 5-String sets, and only 2 pre-packaged 6-String sets are available.
