| Or RAISE it so it's CLOSER TO the string - this generally makes the string it's closer to louder, unless it's TOO CLOSE - where it 'chokes' the string's magnetic field & sound.
Experiment with p-up height - see what works.
I had a Jazz bass which had a quieter D String- I got too much volume on the G if I raised the pup, in the end I hadda get new pups- SOLVED problem striaght away.
Have U also tried different strings-?? sometime a string can be 'dead'.
