I'm looking for a 6 string flat set without having to buy single strings. Any help?

Lots of places sell them online. Carvin has their own brand that's cheap!

Give them a call. I'm sure they have a phone number on their website.

You can get TI Jazz Flats in a 6-set but they're around $70.

Here you go: 1-800-854-2235
http://www.carvin.com/products/singl...r=FW60&CID=ACC

$30 + $9 S&H = $39

I wonder what the tension is like on these strings. I like my TI 4 string flat set. I hated the flats that came on my MIM Jazz Bass; way too tight!

I saw that Carvin set, but it looks like they don't even care about the strings. They're in a package in which gummy worms would be.

I wouldn't worry about the package. They are sold direct from Carvin. Carvin doesn't need to spend their money on making pretty packages for retail outlets; however, they do put together a nice mail order catalog.

Like I said before, I can't buy online. It would be kinda hard for me to get those strings, anyway. Is there another company that makes them?

You can't purchase over the phone with a credit card?

Hilarious! - the packaging is what makes the sound after all ; }

They are Labellas, BTW.

No... I'm only 15. My parents are weird about buying things online and using credit cards.

Are those Carvin strings worth the price? I'm considering getting them.

Impossible to answer. I got a set and they were OK, but I didn't like them as much as LaBellas I've had. I've read that they're OEMed by LaBella though, so my problem could have been in my mind. They felt nice and sounded fine, but the "B" string kind of died on me after about 4 months or so. Could have been bad luck, could have been in my mind. They are the least expensive option for a six string flat set by a long shot!

I'm sure your parents have done a phone order with a credit card. I don't think it is really an "online" purchase if you call them. Carvin is a trusted company. They've been around for years. You could explain this to your parents. It's worth a shot, right?

Is there any other 6er flats set besides Carvin?

Does D'Addario make 6er Chromes? What about Conklin?

Yup. There's the TI Jazz Flats 6-string set, but those go for around $70. I'd love a set, but I can't justify that kind of purchase right now. I already have TI Jazz flats on my P-Bass and my fretless Jazz.

There are also Elites. Steve Lawson says on his website that he uses those.
