Question 6 String flats, long scale. (TI's ?)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, (and gals)

I recently bought this
http://www.rondomusic.com/hxb406natspfl.html
Brice 6 string fretless

I wanted to put a set of flats on it.
I recently put a long scale set of chromes on my 4 string, my 4 string is a 34 inch scale. I bought a set up of long scale strings from d'addario and the E string was too short.. (I thought it was defective, but I got another set free, same thing)

Anyway this brought me to realize I need a set of super long scale strings for my bass (35 inch scale length...)

I wanted to try TI flats, but would they fit?
Any opinions of which strings I could try?

They do fit my 35" scale 6 string basses. Sound and feel great too.

I would email TI, ask the length of the windings, and make sure. Some bridges extend back farther than others do, and require longer strings.

GHS Precision Flats come in a 6 set, and those will fit no problem.

Good point. The silk on the headstock was VERY close to the nut on the bass. Although a razor would do the trick to trim back the silk if need be...
