Sign in to disble this ad
just curious if anyone has used this set up on a 5 string

B-(E string tuned to B)
E-(A string tuned to E
A-(D string tuned to A)
D-(G string tuned to D)
G-(C string tuned to G)

I play a Zon with a 35" scale neck

what would be the best strings to use for this?

Why in the world would you want to do that? Every string tuned down a fourth from its designed pitch would make your bass a floppy mess.

Is there some type of situation that you would need to do this? Just use a normal set of 5 string strings in normal tuning...

Here are the string gauges you should get:

B(downtuned from E)- .135
E(downtuned from A)- .105
A(downtuned from D)- .80
D(downtuned from G)- .65
G(downtuned from C)- .45

You see what I did there?
