7 String Nylon Tapewounds!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Guys,
I just thought that I would post this on here as I did a lot of searching to no avail until I have the results now.

Take one set of LaBella 6 string bass tapewounds and 1 set one Labella guitar tapewounds. The D string from the guitar set is long enough (just) to be used as a high F.

I have these strings on a an ESP Jazz and they are hands down the nicest strings for motown/jazz/funk. Punch!

Incidentally the bass that they're on (custom fretless hollowbody 7 string Thor Bass) came alive with these strings. The Piezo sound (ABM bridge) is sooo fat and tasty I nearly wet myself everytime I plug in.

So there it is - incase anyone else out there is wondering, it is possible to run nylon tapewounds on a 7 string.

Would the E-G on that guitar set work for piccolo tuning, and be long enough for a med scale bass (32.5" SL)?
