Understand that tension on an ABG isn't a bad thing. The tension is what causes the wood to pump air and low tension strings result in less acoustic output. The typical phospor bronze strings on ABG have a particular sound, but lots of people have had good luck using other regular electric bass strings on them too. TI flats might be good, but I'd be concerned about the low tension if I was wanting to use it acoustically. I've also read that some people really like modified rounds (e.g. D'Addario Half-Rounds and GHS Brite-Flats) on ABGs.
