Are the 8250 Fenders only Nickel plated round core string?

It appears that Fender's only round core nickel plated string is the 8250 which is taperwound. What if you are not using a string through bridge? Can you still use them, or does Fender make a non-taperwound nickel plated string with a round core?

I've used 8250's on my Squier Precision, which has a regular bridge. You have to do a setup and adjust that saddle up.
