About adding a high C string

Sign in to disble this ad
I think i might be ready to dive into the 5 string bass world. The runs i usually make stay in the mids but i like to throw in a high part for those quite moments that just need a quite underlying note. So if i put this high C string on is it better to get a high B string and tune up, or does anyone know the correct gauge i should be using. I know you can buy just one string at a time and that is probably what i would do. Any help would be grateful.

If you're talking about bass, a high C string is much much more common than a high B. Look for the C-string of a 6-string set. Size usually will be about 30.
