?? about Labella

Sign in to disble this ad
I've used Pretty much Roto swing 66 exclusively for along time. I was talking with a bro and he was telling me that if I liked Roto's that I would really like Labella's. I went on their site and they have a few different types, but I'm unsure which would be similar to the Rotos. Do any of you guys have an idea?

66s are somewhere in between hard rockin steels and deep talkin roundwounds. closer to DT rounds; which, to me, are the more aggressive sounding labella, between the two.

Interesting, I would have thought the DT rounds would be fat and dark like their flatwound counterpart. But you say they are more aggressive that HRS, thanks.

The DT's seem to last a longer than the HR's but, I think that the HR's are probably brighter.
The DT's have a great feel and are very versatile though. They always feel like they're made with the most care.

Hard Rockin' Steels are a bright steel string. So is Roto 66. There is a difference in voicing that one would need to evaluate on their instrument to really appreciate. The Deep Talkin' Rounds are a darker steel string. I would think these are farther from the Roto 66 voicing.
