Ok, so here it is. I've just ordered a fretless acoustic 4, and i want to put flats on it.
I am just wondering if you can get acoustic flats, that might be a little louder then electric strings, or if i would just have to use electric strings, if so, what are some loud flatwounds.
Thanks |

No, they're not specifically suggested for ABG, but for me they work/feel/sound perfect. If you're looking for flatwounds I can give my recommendation for those strings. |

I use TI Jazz Flats, myself.

Josh | When I need volume, I swap from my TI's to an old set of Roto Swing 66's I keep handy.

| | | | I guess people use them, but i have a question. Since ABG's are already really quiet, wouldn't flats make them even quieter?

| | | | I like TI Jazz Flats on my fretted ABG. As far as what's "louder," you're going to have to plug into an amp, so why do you care?
