Acoustic Piccolo Set of Strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are there any strings for an acoustic Five string with the guages from about .40 to .10? I'm stringing it piccolo and want to tune it to a weird D-A#. Even a four string acoustic piccolo set that is like .30-.10 or something like that would be alright, and I can buy the extra D string. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

LaBella makes a set of nylon-core piccolo strings, and personally I wouldn't use anything other than nylon-core strings on an acoustic. So that set would work for the DGCF. I don't know what you could do for the A# though. Maybe you could get a plain nylon high e string from a nylon string guitar and tune that down to A#.

Would an acoustic guitar pack of strings fit my bass?

Some nylon strings might work, like on a classical guitar, as long as the have ball ends to fit your bridge. Intonation could also be a problem, as could their length.

Out of all the acoustic guitar string packs, can you reccommend one that would closest fit what I am trying to do.

What scale length is the bass?

I've never considered stringing an acoustic bass as a piccolo, so I wouldn't know what to go for.
