Acoustic strings on an electric?

or vice versa

Why have I never seen this discussed? I really don't know much about the way the strings are made, but I don't see how this would not be possible. Or why it would even be worth doing, but it's still worth the thought.
So, has anyone done/ seen this before?

Well, electric strings work great on acoustic, they are what I use on mine(Flats) but acoustic strings will not work on an electric, as the pickups can't pickup brass, so the sound they will produce is from only the center core of the string and nowhere near powerful enough.
