action adjustment needed or not?

if i go from extra light rounds to medium flats will my action need adjusted so it dont rattle

Probably....it depends on the string tension differences, and how much relief and string height you have now...most like you will at least have to tweak the truss rod, probably tighten it a bit. Hard to say without seeing the bass. More importantly, be sure the string nut slots will accept the larger gauges without being filed wider. None of this is a big deal, but often little adjustments make a big difference in playability and sound. If in doubt about your ability to make the adjustments, bring it to a good tech, they will probably fix it in minutes, if not seconds. Good luck!
