AFB200 - medium scale flats or long scale ok?

Just got an Ibanez AFB200 and I don't care for the stock D'Addario strings. I don't mind the .50 gauge but I want to use flats. A note with the bass says to use Medium scale strings.

I use Chromes on another bass but I don't see a .50 gauge medium scale set anywhere. Anyone using the .45's on this bass? I'm thinking they might be a bit floppy given the short scale length.

This worked out - digging through my pile of old strings I found a set of .45 Chromes. The taper at the end could have started a few inches earlier but it fits fine. According to the D'Addario string tension charts they're almost an exact tension match to the stock .50 medium scale strings and the feel bears that out.
