After four years, I've got DR Hi-Beams again

Hi everybody.

Four years ago, I bought my first set of DR Hi-Beams after reading so many rave reviews about them. I fell in love with them instantly, but unfortunately the only way I could get them was through Just Strings, and their international shipping charges are high (for me, at least). I kept looking for other places, but always found problems with shipping or availability. Finally, two weeks ago I found Planet Bass, the only online store that offers DR Hi-Beams AND ships them internationally at a very reasonable price. Besides, its owner, Mr. Tony Cimperman, is a great guy who helped me with the transaction and sent me my package real quick. Only had to wait 10 days after I placed my order! (two sets for my 5-string fretted Bongo and another two for my Ric. Arrived last Thursday) I also asked him about DR flats (for my fretless) and he told me that they should arrive soon and will keep me posted. Great service. Needless to say, I'm really happy.

Welcome back!

Those are my current favorites. I found the Hi-Beams a few months ago when I was in need of an emergency set for my fretted bass (my preferred strings were the TI Jazz rounds, mail order only). The Hi-Beams were the strings at the store with the most acceptable gauges, so I bought a set and haven't gone back since. I found them quite unsatisfying for fretless, though (I'm sticking with the TI flats for that).
