And I wont be changing these strings in a long time so I need somethin thatll last and sound reasonably bright

My first choice is DR His, Ive played em once and I liked em on my frens bass. But the thing is they always go out of stock quite often ...so I might hav to get other strings. What other options are there?

1. sunbeams - theyre very expensive....i dont really wanna fork out too much if theyre not very damn good

2. lo riders - ive heard gd and bad stuff about these, any input?

3. elixers? - no experience w em

4. dean markley bluesteel - ive them on my bass rite now and theyre not as bright as i like...

5. rotosound swingbass- ive heard dat theyre pretty bright at the beginning but dies pretty soon, entwistle n sheehan use em so they cant be that bad. any input?

Dean markley blue steels aren't as bright as you like??? I'm not sure there is a brighter sounding string to my ears! From the DR line, the HI-Beams have been the brightest and longest lasting for me.

I have Blue Steels on my passive Fender Jazz 5; they seem less bright/more 'vintagey' sounding(than my active Stambaughs, w/TI Jazz & KS nickels)to me, but maybe it's the bass. For bright, I'd go Ken Smith Rockmasters.
