Another best shortscale flats poll

I know there's plenty of threads on best strings for shortscale basses, but I'm primarily interested in finger feel and longevity. I'm sure between the Labellas, the TI's and the Pyramids, they'd all sound great, but in your opinions which feel the best and potentially sound better with age after years and years of use?

None of these try Chromes.

chromes for me. A little tight on long scale, but perfect for short. Adds some brightness to the sound as well.

Another D'Addario Chromes vote. I know they aren't on your list, but they are definitely a string that get's better & better sounding with age + feel very smooth! I have 4 short scale basses & my go-to shorty is a 60's Yamaha hollowbody strung with Chromes.

Disclosure: D'Addario Endorser. Still, I like Chrome's better than any other flat. I do like Rotosound 77's as well, but they just aren't consistent from set to set + they aren't the smoothest and have a unique peculiar sound (the sound I do like for certain things).

I left out Chromes, Rotosounds and Fender flats cuz I've tried them all and never liked them. The Chromes weren't as smooth as I generally like. Maybe I'll give them another shot.

You have to break them in, IMO. They don't get good until about 3 weeks in.

I see here all the time that people who don't like Chromes put them on try them then take them off. You have to break them in to find where they really shine.

+1 on Chromes. Tension is perfect with short scale. Particularly nice with a hollow body. Lovely thud to the notes, especially with a little foam at the bridge.

Dont count out tapewounds on a short scale hollowbody either!

I'd never count out tapewounds. They're my favorite kind of string. I think it's either gonna be the D'Addarios or the labella "white" tapes.
