another 'what strings for metal?' thread (six string content)

Sign in to disble this ad
im sure those of you who frequent the string section see this question all the time, so ill be brief. im about to be joining a technical death metal band using my esp ltd d6, received brand new in december. it plays just fine, but the stock strings arent quite thick enough for my liking. on my 4-string soundgear i use slinky 55/110's and they feel perfect, i just cant seem to find a 6-string set with those gauges on the 4 middle strings. what other brands should i look at for a 6-string set that retains a thick tone even in the upper register?

Circle K Strings - Standard Balanced 6 Strings
Up to .254 .190 .142 .106 .079 .059, thick enough?
The gauges may look unfamiliar but that's because they are carefully chosen to result in all strings at equal tension, so no floppy lowest string or over-tightened high strings found in traditional sets.
Standard tuning? This set will be nice and tight: .150 .112 .082 .061 .045 .031
