Any new news in Bass Sting sets for 5 strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been doing the 4 string thing for a little bit and I wanted to see if anyone has information about 5 strings sets made by any new companies or old companies with a great new type of string that's good for rock and funk. I need a new set because I just dusted the 5 string off and I just wanted some new input. If they were less than $25 a set that'd be awesome.

Thanks,
Misplaced Bass

For stainless steel strings I like DR Lo-Riders and Highbeams. For nickle strings I like D'Addario. The D'Addario are more in the price range you are looking for. I'm sure other people will chime with what they like to use. Most brands are pretty good now, some last longer if you like the new tone more then the broken in tone. I personally like the new tone and my suggested strings usually last pretty good.

Dunlop SS or nickel strings sound like just what you are looking for. You can get them for on average $25 or less. Great strings. I've been using the ss strings for a couple years now.

Yeah, in the case of dunlops strings, you get a great sounding and playing string that became my go-to string after years of using DR's.
