Question Any other 7 string players familier with these 35-140 Rotosounds?

I currently use 0.18-135's, just a pack of 6 string D'Addario Pro-Steels with a guitar string for the .18-.20.

How do these thicker higher strings compare? and how do they sound tonally?
Any suggestions for stainless steel/"Prosteel" sounding 7 string packs?

HUGE thanks in advance for offering any help you can.

I've never seen a pack with such odd strings before. A .035 is too heavy for a High F and a .140 is too light for a low F#.

It's a custom set that I think you should not get. Roto might be able to help you out directly, hopefully with something lighter on top, but that eBay set is just unusable.

If you ditch the .130 that would be an okay 6 string B set.

^ Yeah I was going to say that sounds as "heavy" as it gets. a .035 for the highest string seems crazy.

Are there any other great packs out there you guys would recommend? I assume it would be the best bet to keep the .018-.135's? or do you guys have any other tricks that have worked for you?

That's more or less what I would use.

I'm actually very much a fan of Circle K's balanced sets with a .150 on the bottom and a .021 on top.

That RS667LD set is for F#BEADGC. Rotosound's Swing Bass 66 6 string set is RS666LD 35 45 65 80 105 130. So they've lazily added a .140 for F# with no thought of correct tension, probably because 140 is the largest gauge single they have available. The 35 C string looks stupid tight in the way D strings usually are. This is traditional thinking applied to an ERB set, and is the most unbalanced set I've seen. I would also recommend Circle K Strings
