Anyone ever have a Thomastik Jazz-Round just go dead?

My A string has lost all luster compared to the other 3 strings. The set has been on the bass about 2 months with minimal use. The E,D,G strings all sound great but the A is just dead. Has anyone had this happen with a single Thomastik string? Does anyone have experience with Thomastik customer service in the US?

Normally I would just replace the whole set and move on with my life but these strings cost 2-3 times more than "normal" strings so I feel this short lifespan is unacceptable. The TI flats on my P-bass have been wonderful in every way so I naturally have high expectations for the jazz-rounds.

For the record: the string is correctly wrapped on the post (not twisted) and after thorough inspection I find there are no issues with the saddle, bridge, nut, or tuner.

Their customer service is excellent, in my experience. They might take a day or two to respond, but they will take care of you. Email them.

Sound like you have a problem with a string core. TI may want you to send them the string so they can have a look at it.

Who did you buy it from? The dealer should be able to get a replacement for you very quickly if you email them.
