mmmmm, snuggly!!

To prolong string life:
1) Always wash your hands before you play
2) Try keeping something around so you can clean your hands in between playing
3) Clean your strings with any number of safe & recommended string cleaners
4) Keep your string away from any corrosives, also, make sure your hands are not moist when playing
But most bass strings last a long time, they not as fragile as guitard strings.

It was entertaining for sure. |

I do have a set of gloves, well actually glove liners, that I cut the tops off of for practicing when it is really cold. I had to trim down the right thumb since the material tended to mute the E string. |

There is also a local guy here in Mpls that does some really funky stuff with a mitten on. He get's the envelope going with this muting and it kicks major booty. He's one of my all time favorites and I've been lucky that I grew up in the same city. |

Nix the glove idea, just remember, your fingers will always produce oil, but you can reduce that by washing your hands with a good or at least fairly good hand soap before handling and/or before each set. Also, sometimes a dirty sting is not as bad as it seems, they can sound better than new tone wise. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
