I have heard that Fender has changed string manufacturers and am wondering if these strings are the same as the old ones. Hope not! |

The silk wraps at the end are gone. Although the tone is similar, it just doesn't seem as full sounding, even after letting them break in for a few weeks. I put the old set of 7250's back on and they sounded better.
I have since cleaned out the Indianapolis area shops of 7250's in the old packaging (I have about 15 sets now). Since Fender changed all their string line ups to a new manuacturer, I would think this might apply to the 8250's as well.

I ordered the newer and received 2 different sets of duds form guitar center. The E-string was wound imporperly on the first, and the A string was bad on the second set. Not to mention, like you said the wraps are gone. It's not easy finding the correct strings with it needing tapered B and E strings.

Out of all the great revieww; why can't they leave well enough alone? If the 7150's remain unchanged, this could be another option.

Don't dig Fender strings period but I needed a new set of string and the store was limited to Fender and Ernie Ball. |

I simply love these strings on my four and five string J's, and I have another J-bass coming from G&L in a few weeks for which I should stock up.
I might need to return to GHS Boomers. They sound and feel similar to the old Fenders, but IMO/E they have about a third the longevity, which is a drag.

I just bought 5 packs and hate the new ones! Guess I'll go back to Labella slappers....anyone need some 82505m, I have 3 packs |
