anyone here try the jonas hellborg signature strings?

how are they if you tried em? I like his tone a lot and wondered what these things are like

They are very odd strings, it was strange playing them. All you hear is the fundamental tone, no overtones or anything. Just the basic tone. it's strange. The strings themselves are a single wrap of a huge wire and the part you wrap around your tuning posts is just the bare core. They feel and sound like raw metal. They have a ring to them just by touching them. Very different.

They were not the string for me, but I'm by no means a vintage type guy. I hate flats and I hate P-basses, I'm all modern and progressive so these were not for me. But if you are looking for a vintage tone you might like them.

these sound great on my FrankenP. Agree with the getting basically fundamentals. There are a few posts on these strings and the opinions are varied. You might want to do a search and read what other members have to say.

I just recently put them on my Variax and like them. They have a very consistent tone from string to string. That is, the tone when playing an E on the 2nd fret of the D string sounds almost the same as 7th fret on the A string.
