I like using Ernie Ball Extra Slinky strings(95-70-60-40). I think most punk bands use Ernie Ball strings. I play in a super fast punk band and these lighter gauge strings feel great. I also use Ernie Ball strings on my guitar. I guess you just gotta experiment and see what sounds/feels right to you.

check the ernie ball endorsement list. pretty much punk/core stuff but dont get to thin strings. the thicker let you play faster with less stress an your wrist cause they respond faster

I play in a ska/punk band and I use D'Addario XL nickel roundwounds. They're readily available and relativaly cheap. I used to use Ernie Balls, but I've found them too zingy for my tastes lately. For the most part I would say to just go get a set of something you're interested in trying. Strings are one of the cheapest things you could change on your bass and the right set can really only be determend by you.

Have you tried the DR Hi Beam? It's a great long lasting set.
