Anyone tried DR High Beam Flats?

I recently saw an ad for them in the new Bass & Guitar Buyers Guide 2007 and was wondering if anyone has tried them yet or are they not available.

I've had a set on order with juststrings for over a month now, they keep telling me they are waiting on DR. But DR has nothing on their website about them and haven't answered my inquiries. I think at this point they are a myth.

I read that and it's what made me order a set, I don't really want to have to do ebay to order any, and you'd think DR would be promoting them somewhere.

While I'm venting, I have to say that the DR website is one of the worst designed sites I've been to lately. The front page is pretty but the links to the product information don't work half the time and not being able to turn off the friggin' music really pisses me off. Good thing they make such awesome strings, cause their webmaster needs to go back to school.

Yeah, the DR site is not friendly at all.

I ordered a set from juststrings a month or so ago, and got them in a couple of days. They have since run out, I guess.

They remind me a lot of Fender flats, in both look, feel and sound. Pretty high tension, classic flats sound. Very nice.

I preferred my old TI flats; easier on the hands, so I put them back on.

Thanks for the feedback, the high tension would be a turn off for me. I'll try them possibly at NAMM but if they are high tension then I will probably stick with my old standby LaBella 760FL's which I always enjoy using and are medium low tension and very smooth. I find the TI's to be a great sounding string but a bit too low tension and not as smooth as the 760FL's.

Yes, you should try them yourself, as one man's "high tension" is another man's "rubber bands".

Any more updates on these? Looking for something for my Yamaha bb1200. Comparisons with TI and Chromes would be most useful.
