Anyone tried the Fender 9120 tapewound strings, I am looking for an alternative to the Rotosound tapewounds which sound awesome but have horrible intonation , how do these strings sound ? Is the intonation ok on them , Anyone?

They have been my favorite of all the tapes I have tried. First, they are actually roundwounds inside, which lead them to a little less tension than most others (which are flats). I have found their intonation as good as any other, but do intonate your bass after changing your current strings to these, as you would any other time.
The only minus I have found with them is they are made for 34 inch scales only, and I mean only exactly 34 inch scales. If you have a bass that strings body through, which would require some extra string length, you won't get it here on this set. I have emailed Fender on this one, and do noit look for them to change it.
Also, some basses that use their bridge as part of the grounding aspect will really buzz and hiss with this set since it will eliminate the grounding (this happened with a set I had on an Ibanez 480, which has a PJ pup confguration).
All in all, they are a very good set to use. The strings are a little large in diameter (.50 or .60 to .110) so your nut/bridge may need to be modified.
