Anyone use Black Beauties on an Aerodyne Jazz?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just picked up a first generation Aerodyne Jazz (sans pg). The strings are dead. I will most likely put as set of DR Black Beauties and wanted to know if anyone has used BBs on an Aerodyne and any impressions/comments on the match.

I currently have BBs on my schecter and jag. I like the tone and feel. Easy on the fingers and cuts some of the highs (imho). I primarily play hard rock, stoner rock (whatever that is) and metal.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I use D'Addarios on my Aerodyne and I love the tone. All Fender to my ears.

I don't Know if it would look all that great. The Aerodyne is a Very Dark bass. everythings black except the binding which is a Creamish color, and hardware is chrome. If I were you, I'd put some hot stainless steel on there. Maybe DR Hibeams. Or, If you wanted to have a standout string set, use a different color, maybe to match your strap or your stage clothes? For example if you had a Black/Yellow Strap with white accents, It'd be cool to use DR Mello Yellows.

Just throwing all this out there
Hope it helps.
