Anyone using Dean Markley SR2000's?

I just put a set on my Pedulla MVP-6 and love them. Most stores don't stock them, so you have to order them. They have a really supple feel to them and seem to last quite a while. I was just wondering if any of you had an opinion on, horror story about or shameless praise for them.

My favourite too, great feel & good tone. Don't seem to get much attention around here, don't know why.

My favourite strings by far!

Although I wish they offered some heavier gauges!

I just got my first set of SR2000's in the mail, and they look totally differebt than other strings, because of the winding at the bridge. I won't get to try themout for about 4 months because I just put on some GHS boomers. I got a SR2000 48-128 5-string set.

I used a 47-120 something set about a year ago, and they lasted a long time. Pretty average tone, they were alright. I prefer the brightness of Ernie Balls better, and I tried some DR Hi-Beams today, and they sound the best so far. The Dean Markleys had the best feel though. Good buy.

I only say all this because I just like to try new brands, but the SR2000's were great. I'm definately going to use them again.

I tried the the SR2000's once. Not bad, but I realize that I don't like taperwound strings, no matter who makes them.

I like both the SR 2000s and Blue Steels. I'm not sure what the differences are - other than the tapered edges of the SR-2000; great for Spectors and other basses that have tight bridges where the B and E are concerned.

Both strings sound very bright to me (which is great, in my case), I haven't had the chance to A/B them.

I've been using the "SR2000 Will Lee". I have also used the D'Addario XLs.. but have a preference for the Dean Markleys.

I have been using the Will Lee gauge on my 4 and six for ages now. The Will Lee gauge is discontinued but they still make it but it is called the MC gauge. I was thinking of trying their medium gauge, but I am afraid the High C may be too thick (35). I really wish they had bigger B's though, though the ones they have do suffice.

On www.juststrings.com they have a .135 and I think a .140 gauge for the low B. You have to buy them single. I'm will try a .135 if I think my .128 is too small.

I currently have these on my Peavey Palaedium. I got them for (relatively) cheap in the budget rack of a local music shop. I like them on the Palaedium.

I put on the SR2000's last night. These strings are the best thing I've ever done for my bass. They sound amazing! The coolest part is the tapered end at the bridge, they strings literatly bounces off my fingers. Yay, these are THE BEST!!!

I tried them on a cheapie Ibanez 5-string I had back in the mid 1990s. No other string compared, especially regarding the low B. Any low B would've been crud on that bass, but the SR2000 low B actually had some articulation. I probably should try them on my Warwick.

SR2000's -to- Rotosounds -to- DR Low Riders

I find SR2000's to have a major plus and a major weakness to them. The Plus is they sound awesome in the mids. This is an uppermid grindy string. Lots of punch and attack and snarl in the upper mids, and that compliments my playing style very well, especially on my Fender 75' RI.
The major downfall and beef I have with these strings is there's no bottom end authority. I'm guessing it has to do with the taper ends? The strings don't seem to translate lows as good as non-tapered strings.
They compare in sound to Rotosounds, (another string with good grindy mids, DR-Low Riders as well)... but both Rotosounds and Low Riders, IMO and IME translate low end punch more so. I love the SR2000 grind so much, but really wish they has a better bottom...
