I've been told by a friend of mine that you can put armorall on the neck and strings of your instrument so you can slide around faster and as a result, gain faster action. True, armorall does make sliding easier, he puts it on his guitar and i tried it out. He's kind of a protective guy when it comes to gear though so im tempted to believe this stuff is safe to use since he uses it. Does anyone think this could corrode the material in the strings and the wood of the neck?

Isn't Armorall highly flammable? It's silicone based.
That's what I want seeping into my fretboard.
I hear Grape Jam works as well.
From the Armor All site: Quote: Do not use on damaged paintwork. Do not use on metallised plastic trim, wood, glass,or rubber trim. It also says it's not supposed to be used for personal cleansing | So the answer is no, except for Grape Jam. Just get some Fast Fret.

to be honest the only lubricant i use is a bit of nose grease on the fingers. One swipe is all it takes. Nothing beats a renewable resource!

| | | Is NOT flammable, and does NOT say can't be used on plastic. For gawd sakes its used extensively on car interiors.
but would NOT use on wood.
