Has anyone tried these new Aurora Strings yet?
What are they like? Are they similar to the coated DR Black Beauties? Are they slick? Are they like flatwounds?

I have a set of purple ones that I haven't installed yet. Feel just like a set of Black Beauties and for good reason. I e-mailed the guys at Aurora to get some info on the strings and he informed me that DR buys their colored wrap wire from them and makes their strings from it. I haven't decided which bass is going to get them yet.

I have them on one of my P-Basses (clear coating). They feel a bit like a stainless string. They grab your finger just a bit. They sound good, but not as good as Cleartone strings, IMO. They're still pretty nice.

I just put a set of orange Aurora strings on yesterday that I got free from work. I'm digging them so far. They are very even sounding, feel comfortable and they look extremely cool.
