I was looking us some things on coated/colored strings, and came across but haven't been able to find out much about these. Anyone ever tried them?

I've used them, and I would buy them again. I actually like them better than DRs.

Just put a 5 string set on my Peavey USA Millennium on sat. (Replacing a set of DR Lo-Riders - had to give purple strings a try - just had to!). Played them in church service Sunday morning and??? I liked them. A bit less volume and brightness versus the Stainless steel DR's, but that's a nickel string. A little eq tweaking and I have to admit that I liked them even more then the lo-riders.

I've used DR black beauties in the past and enjoyed the brightness and long-life of them. I'm waiting to see how the Aurora's hold up over a similar amount of time. Hope they pass the test 'cause at nearly $10 a set less then the coated DR's, if they last, I'm hooked!

Put a pair of purple Auroras on a purple bass I made for my daughter. Sounded like a standard nickel string set. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on another bass.
