B E A D Tuning

I have used the search tool but was not able to find much in that search.
I am using a 4 string Hohner EAB w/GHS tapewounds. I tend to shy away from the first string. For that reason as well as being able to play R-5 with the root directly below the 5 in E, I am thinking of using a low B string as my low string and tuning to B E A D.
GHS has a 5 string set with a 125 B string. Can I simply use that one string and restring to eliminate the .50 high G? Any advise would be most welcome. Thanks & take care. Bob

Yes, that's exactly how you'd go about doing it.

Yup .
You might have to adjust your bridge saddles for intonation .
Who needs the g-string anyway ?

Unfortunately, yes. It's highly possible that your intonation will be off until you have a new saddle made.
