What gauge and brand of strings are you guys using for your low B? Tonally, my B sounds far too different from the other strings. I'm looking for a string that has no variation is tone from the E to B strings when playing the same pitch. I've always been a fan of D'adarrios with my 4-string, just got my first 6er. |

They also sound and feel great. And they last long. I don't buy them because they are "Fodera" strings - they are the real deal and are not badly priced either.

It feels and sounds like a dream. Not floppy at all. I'm about to go really light on my yamaha as well. It has a 35 inch scale, and I've tried many different string sizes above .125, and the best yet was a dean markley signature nickelsteel .128. I'm gonna order some custom sizes soon with something around a .117 or .115 to see if that fixes my problem.
^^--are you using that .118 on the 6er in your avatar? Also, what kind of strings are you using? |

Of course, the LaBella tapes are less dense than what you're using. I have one fretless that uses a 125 and still sounds good. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
