| It's also going to be in your tone. Boost the bass slightly and the low-mids a bit so that you can really hear the second overtone of the fundamental.
The .145 B can potentially be louder, but not in the sense that you are thinking.
The .145 B will have a more prominent fundamental (32Hz) and will be bassier in nature. It will not have as much clarity as a .135 B, which is slightly less bassy and doesn't have a quite as powerful fundamental.
You have to realize, though, that more often than not, you are hearing the second and third overtones of these strings. Your B and E strings (fundamentals of 32Hz and 40Hz) are down near that threshold of the human ear. With the way that sound waves are transmitted, the lower frequencies need substantially more power to produce them at the same decibel level as the higher pitched notes.
