Back to this again-recommend some strings

Hey guys, I took everyone's advice and tried out some D'addario exl170's in medium light, my preferred string gauge for standard tuning. My first impression was that they felt amazing (rw, but very smooth- my fingers just glided over them) and had perfect tension. The G and D string sounded decently big, not thin and brittle. The E and A string however were very undefined and transparent. The best I can describe them is they sounded like "blah blah blah" instead of "bum ba bum".

Anyways, I'm joining this death metal band that plays down in C# standard, so 45-100 was way way too light. I found an old set of dr highbeams in my closet and put back on the used 85 and 105. Those immediately made a huge difference- much better tension, pretty mellow since they're so used, but still a very defined attack, as well has a huge fat sound (probably just because they're so much heavier).

So now I'm looking for "my" strings again. I think I'll get two sets and to try both a heavy and medium gauge. I'm looking for a very defined, mid heavy attack, but the string for sure has to feel smooth under my fingers (a set of eb super slinkies I tried had way way too much friction for example). Can anyone help a guy out?

Anyone? anyone at all?
I'm looking to try something new, but I think I might just have to go back to highbeams, because I've always been satisfied with them. I've tried...
Dr highbeams
dr lowriders
eb hybrid slinkies
eb super slinkies
B-52 rockers
Randy Jackson alchemy (the gold strings)
D'addario Exl170s

Um, I think there may be a couple more I've tried in the past, but I can't really remember all of 'em. Sooooo, any suggestions.

Well, if you like the highbeams, you can try the sunbeams, the nickel version. Similar low tension feel, a little less trebly and a bit smoother on the fingers.

Ok thanks, I'll take a look. But you mentioned them being nickel- the last nickel strings I tried sounded transparent and bland. How do you think these will compare?

I put on a barely used set of dr lowriders 45-105 to test them out. Now that they're completely broken in, I'm happy with the tension of them and I love how they feel under my fingers, but they just lack the presence that I want out of 'em. They're just so mellow. Any suggestions?
