- - Bad Strings?

Is it possible for a string to be bad in just one spot? My G string starts buzzing a bit at the 7th fret. It plays just fine before and after the 7th fret.

It could be a fret not being level, or a truss rod adjustment is due.

I've had some strings bend at frets I use a lot (albeit they were heavily used electric guitar strings not bass but I don't see why the same couldn't happen with time)

I'm with SLaPiNFuNK - you may have a raised fret.

Definitely a fret problem and not a string problem. If it buzzes at the 7th fret, than the 8th fret is probably high.

I was able to raise the G string slightly and add a touch more relief. The E string was buzzing at the 1st fret. All is right with the world again!!!
